Facilities Maintenance (programs are offered at NO COST to clients) NEW!
Through a combination of live, in-person instruction; online, self-paced learning; and hands-on activities, this course will prepare students for work in facilities maintenance, which can be a launching pad for a rewarding career in the building engineering, HVAC, construction, and/or electrical fields. Students will gain a basic understanding of residential and commercial construction, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical systems; and building upkeep such as cleaning, painting, and window and door maintenance.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Comfortability with physical labor and using hand and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to obtain a passing score on an assessment of basic computer literacy, math, and measurement skills
- Resident of Santa Clara County, San Benito County, or Santa Cruz County
- 18 years of age or older and interested in securing meaningful employment in automotive repair with opportunities for economic growth
- Valid authorization to work in the United States, such as U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an employment authorization card
- Available to attend all sessions of the program, including pre-class training and career readiness workshops
Career Opportunities:

- Building or Facilities Manager or Technician
Certifications Available:
- OSHA-10
- NATE Ready to Work
- EPA 608 (Core, Type I, Type II, Type III)
- Facilities Maintenance certificate of completion from Interplay Learning
- Wide range of additional certificates from Interplay Learning in related subjects, including HVAC, Electrical, Construction, and Plumbing
